The appstore policy hasn't really changed
Apple's policy change regarding original source code standards has turned into a "shot heard 'round the world" across the developer blogosphere. Frankly, I'm glad they made this change - because it shows the iPhone OS ecosystem in its true light: It's Apple's world, and you just live in it.
I'd like to remind all developers that Apple can shutdown your app at any point in time, for whatever reason they choose. Regardless of this latest absurd source code restriction. Apple is the law maker and the judicial system, and there are no unalienable rights. It doesn't matter what they put in their terms of service. They could have just as easily enforced this policy without ever including it in the terms.
Apple's policy is the same as it always was: "you can submit apps to our store, and maybe we'll accept them, and if we do maybe we'll shut you down later on". This hasn't changed, as far as I'm concerned.
Is this really a surprise? Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. The laws of nature don't change just because the dictator has a great sense of design.
